The Punjab government has decided to extend the winter vacation for medical and nursing colleges in the province. The holidays, which were originally set to end on January 2nd, will now continue until January 8th. According to a statement released by the Specialized Health Department, medical students on rotation will continue to fulfill their duties at hospitals during this time.

In addition to medical and nursing institutions, the winter vacation has also been extended for public and private schools and colleges in Punjab due to a sudden drop in temperature. The School Education Department (SED) has announced that winter holidays for public and private schools in the province will be extended from January 2nd to January 8th, with academic activities resuming on January 9th.
Similarly, the Higher Education Department (HED) has announced that winter holidays for public and private colleges in Punjab will also be extended from January 2nd to January 8th, with colleges set to reopen on January 9th.
