Join PAF Commissioned Officers Jobs 2022 are opening in various branches of PAF such as General Duty Pilot, Aeronautical Engineering Course, Air Defence Course, Logistics Course, Admin & Special Studies Course, Education Branch, MET Branch, Legal Branch, IT Branch, Engineering Branch, and Accounts Branch.
The Pakistan Air Force is the Air Warfare Branch of the Pakistan Armed Forces, which is primarily tasked with providing air defense to Pakistan, a secondary role of providing air support to the Pakistan Army and Navy when needed, and providing strategic airlift capability.
According to the International Institute for Strategic Studies, PAF has 70,000 active duty personnel and operates at least 594 aircraft in Pakistan by 2021. Its core mandate and mission is to “provide Pakistan’s most secure and low-cost air defense, in coordination with other inter-services.” Since its inception in 1947, the PAF has been involved in various combat operations, providing air support to Pakistani military operations and relief activities.
Under Article 243, the Constitution of Pakistan appoints the President of Pakistan as the Commander-in-Chief of the Pakistan Armed Forces. The Chief of Air Staff (CAS), in accordance with the law, appoints a four-star commissioned air officer in consultation with the President and the Prime Minister of Pakistan.
