Company Introduction:
The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP) is a professional accountancy institution in Pakistan. As of December 2018, it has 9989 members working inside and outside Pakistan.
It was established on July 1, 1961, to manage the accountancy profession in Pakistan. It is a legally independent body established under the Chartered Accountants Ordinance 1961. With significant advances in the profession, the CA Ordinance and bylaws were revised in 1983.
The ICAP course includes a combination of theoretical education and hands-on training (3.5 years) lasting approximately 6 years.
The CA course through ICAP consists of 4 steps called PRC, CAF, CFAP, and MSA. There are 5 papers in the PRC stage, 2 groups in the CAF stage (group A and group B), 4 papers in group A and 4 papers in group B, 6 papers in the CFAP stage, and 2 papers in the MSA stage but not in the CAF stage. Then there is a paper in the middle. 3.5-year article ship period.
The head office of the Institute is at Clifton, Karachi where it has its own premises. The agency also has regional offices in Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar, Multan, Gujranwala, Sukkur, Quetta, Mirpur, Faisalabad, Abbottabad, and Hyderabad.
