The Federal Ministry of Education and Vocational Training is a federal ministry of the Government of Pakistan. The political head of the church is called the Minister of Education of Pakistan, and the bureaucratic authority of the ministry is the Secretary of Education of Pakistan.
Education in Pakistan has been primarily a provincial issue since the 18th Amendment to the Constitution of Pakistan when the Department of Education was transferred from the Federation to the provinces.
The ministry was established in July 2011. In 2013, it was renamed the Ministry of Education, Training, and Standards of Higher Education; in 2014, it was renamed the Ministry of Federal Education and Vocational Training.

The Government of Pakistan’s Federal Education and Professional Training Division invites applications for the prestigious position of Pakistan Chair Abroad at the University of Tehran, Iran. Qualifications and Experience:
- Ph.D. Degree from an HEC recognized University / Institution in Pakistan Study or Humanities & Social Science.
For Associate Professor:
- At least five (05) years post Ph.D. and/or at least 10 years of teaching and research experience in a recognized university or research organization.
- Maximum age limit of 55 years as of the closing date of the advertisement (No age relaxation allowed).
- Familiarity with the English Language is preferable.
- Knowledge of the culture, institutions, and people of the host country.
- Capacity and competence in leadership to promote Pakistan’s language, history, and culture.
- Experience in mentoring, advocacy, communication, organizational management, research grants, diplomacy, media relations, and academic staff associations.
- Membership in professional or academic bodies supported by documentary evidence.
- Research leading to quality publications during the tenure abroad is desirable.
- Proficiency in computer skills and interpersonal skills.
Terms and Conditions:
- Initial appointment for three years on deputation basis, extendable for a maximum of two years Contract based on satisfactory performance evaluations.
- Salary and allowances as per the prescribed terms and conditions of the Government of Pakistan.
