Company Introduction:

Karachi Shipyard and Engineering Works Limited KS&EW is a Pakistani government defense contractor and military corporation located in West Warf, Karachi, Sindh.

KSEW Limited is the oldest shipyard in Pakistan, providing shipbuilding, ship repair, and general heavy engineering equipment. It has built several cargo ships, oil tankers, tug boats, support vessels, landing craft, ships, and submarines for the Pakistan Navy.

It also builds and repairs for a wide range of customers in Pakistan National Shipping Corporation, Karachi Port Trust, Port Qasim Authority, and the private sector in Pakistan. All company shares are owned by the Government of Pakistan, which is under the administrative control of the Ministry of Defence.

It was established in the mid-fifties as a project of the Pakistan Industrial Development Corporation (PIDC). It was later incorporated in 1957 as a public limited company with a board of directors and a managing director.

It has a large shipbuilding hall, three-block fabrication areas, three shipbuilding berths, two dry docks, a machine shop, grit blasting, a painting facility, a 7881-ton capacity ship lift, a transfer system, and 13 parking stations.
